Posted on January 8, 2015

Well, I would like to buy a VPS. Is it possible to provide Shared Hosting Support to customers now? I mean, can I setup control panel to manage multiple domain and hosting and let customers to access their control area?

DO servers/droplets are not designed to be long term shared hosting service, they are more usable for single services like caches, db, mail, etc. if you plan to setup a shared hosting service try other solutions and complement with DO, You can have a pretty good 8+ core VPN (half the price than DO similar) on myhosting.com and setup some cache solutions on DO like varnish to go easy on your main server resources.

Just go and compare prices/resources and you will see what I’m talking about. Large droplets are not that good when you compare resources per cost.

Shared hosting is better when beginners want to develop website. VPS is Virtual Private Servers. VPS is completely the customizable which can be upgraded any of time site grows. It provide fill root access which means total control, and allow to install the advanced software and provide completely customized environment.
