Can no longer upload files from my IP to my server

1. Talked to support already
2. I used to be able to upload files, now I cannot from my IP.
3. I have not changed ISPs, modems… etc
4. I can upload from this computer to another droplet on this account no problem.
5. I can upload from other computers to my problem-droplet no problem.
6. Via SFTP: Status: Connection attempt failed with “ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server”.
7. Via SCP: Network Error: software caused connection abort.
8. The only thing that comes to mind that might be the culprit is I ran a port scan against this server. I am wondering if that triggered some sort of firewall against my IP. My IP is static, so I cannot change it, but using other IPs, I can get through.
9. I can download via my IP
10. I can read via my IP
11. I can connect via my IP
12. I cannot modify data via my IP
13. I am attempting to do this via root account.
14. I can upload with a VPN via my internet.
15. My installation is "wordpress on ubuntu 14.04
16. I can log into it and make posts and stuff from my IP.
17. I cannot upload via the media uploader, I get an http error warning.
18. I did NOT install any firewall stuff…

Since I seem to have no trouble uploading via a VPN or another computer, I cannot help but think it must be some sort of firewall based on my IP, based on the port scan I ran. That said… a port scan? Really? I dunno. No clue what could cause this. Been through it with support, they sent me here (gave up).

Challenging problem, I’m out of solutions. Will have to do all my work via VPN for now I suppose. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
