Question

Can we move an entire project to a different team?

This is a very complicated process of taking droplet snapshots and moving them to different teams/account. Along with changing DNS entries because the IP address changes. Can you help with a feature to move the entire project to another Team Account?

Yes, I am interested in that as well.

I am a green user at DO.

I created a project under my own account. Now I want to bring in others to the project. I created a team and would like to move the resources from my account to the team account.

@AHA any update on this? we have a project with a couple dozen services in there, migrating it all will be a tedious task that will involve a lot of work. If we can just transfer ownership, that would be most helpfull

Hello there,

Another thing to mention is that new ideas about DigitalOcean’s platform can be posted to our Product Ideas board including as much information as possible for what you’d like to see implemented.

Hope that helps!

What is the current methods of moving project/resources to a different team?

I would love an easy process to move it because a number of our projects/resources are in our development team/account. Once they go live, we move to the appropriate client’s account so the billing is also clear.

I need this as well.

@moronx I’ve passed that along to our accounts team, they are always developing how Teams and Projects works to try and make collaboration easier, so they’ll be interested in your feedback.

The complicated part of migrating resources is the sort of “cascading” set of updates that needs to happen on the backend/database level. Not impossible, but complicated :)

Best of luck with your migration work, I’ll ping here if I hear any updates on team migration capabilities.
