It will be a life saver if I can have any solution for this problem.

Hey there @buzdy

So to answer the first part of the question no DigitalOcean does not keep backups of servers for you. You would need to have setup backups or have snapshot of use a service like ours SnapShooter.

As for the recover, I don’t want to get any hopes up as I would strong suspect it’s gone. However a very very last ditch attempt would be to boot into recovery mode, and use something like testdesk

But again I would not be very hopeful.

Snapshooter DigitalOcean backups

@buzdy I’m unaware of anything that is in place behind the scenes (disclosure, I’m an internal MySQL DBA at Digitalocean) that can be classed as a backup.

Regarding a ‘deleted’ database, what are the circumstances here?

  • Hi Andrew, I have a similar situation. A webdeveloper who wasnt familiar with DO seems to have deleted my database on April 8th

Is there any way of restoring it if we didn’t have a managed account?

Hey @r164,

Was this a managed database or MySQL on a droplet? If a droplet were backups enabled on the droplet?

Hi,
It was a mysql on a droplet and webguy did not have backups enabled
