Apache Backups DigitalOcean Ubuntu

Okay so what happen when I was updating the content of my website through wordpress admin panel I got some PHP syntax error and I got block from wp-admin access, to correct that I need root access so I contact to support regarding root credentials and they suggested me to reset my root password from droplet access and also told me there will be no downtime to the website.
After doing a root password reset I am not able to access the website. Don’t know what is gone wrong.

So Can you tell me “Do I have to restart apache server after reset root password and if YES tell me how? or is there any other way to restore the droplet from the Backups section”??
Or any other alternative???

Thanks,

Hi,

You should not have to restart apache after resetting the root password. I think the more relevant info might be the “php syntax error” you received that locked you out of wp-admin to begin with.

If you are able to SSH/Console (SSH is far faster and more useable), I would recommend looking inside the Apache / PHP error logs to look for errors related to your site - sometimes a php.ini setting is too low (memory) or if there’s a database error, PHP will report on that too - something to give us some clues on how to proceed.

What happens now when you try to visit the homepage of your website? Does it connect and show an error? Does it never connect? Does it load still but you are unable to log in?

Good luck and let us know how you are going
