Cannot access port 80 (Apache) from my PC

Posted on July 21, 2014

Apache is running (on Fedora) and I can wget http://localhost:80 localy, but externaly I cannot access port 80. There are no firewalls from my side (nor have I knowingly installed any). I’m guessing this is a networking issue but not sure where to start looking.

iptables -F

The default Fedora Droplet appears to block ports other than the SSH port I was using to log in with. Flushing the IP tables removes the firewall block - which gets me back up and running now.
