Cannot Access Wordpress on ANY browser EXCEPT with VPN? Several Issues Surrounding It - Any Advice Welcome!

DigitalOcean Miscellaneous WordPress VPN

I am on your site because I found the **BEST and closest answer to what may be the issue I’ve been having for nearly a year on a previous Digital Ocean post and hope that someone could try to give me some advice or if my question isn’t meant for this site? Please, respectfully, lmk and I’ll post it elsewhere. Thank you so much :)

OP: [https://www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/i-can-t-access-my-site-but-everyone-else-can-only-my-ip-address-doesn-t-work]

DILEMMA
I have several strange issues …

I have yet to reset my Router which could be the main issue but, if at all possible, I’d appreciate any guidance. I respect your field of expertise. My Issues Are:

  1. Can only log into Wordpress via VPN. Otherwise, on Chrome, Opera, Firefox/Waterfox, and yes, IE 11 (sadly) I cannot get in. Continuously gives me the “Third Party Cookies must be accepted” error.

  2. Since logging into my ISP’s Default Gateway (192.168.1.1) i.e. my Router, last, I changed the user/pass and it did not register successfully and since then, issues. IDK what I did? I never called my ISP. I know that resetting the router can solve that and start me over. I will do this after I post my question.

  3. Linksys’s own “Router Update/Configure” Assistant client after DLing from their site, it will not start, states “You do not have a router/internet connection on this device”. I get the Internet. I go to thousands of sites.

  4. Windows Update, slowly, 1 here and there, since 03-31-18 successful update into computer, it will not finish 6 Updates .. 4 important, 2 optional. It does continuously and successfully update MS Essentials and scans, both full and quick, never discover any viruses, etc.

4A. I ran a process explorer scan over I believe 60+ processes and my Registry is perfectly fine.

4B. Windows Update recently updated successfully other important updates but, those same 6, nada.

  1. Windows Update Troubleshooter – for ALL system instances – will not allow me access, constantly denied. It gives me that 8000000FFF—(not exact) error all of the time. Without that troubleshooter, I cannot fix anything at all because I can’t even run it.

  2. I am in Administrator mode under a User account. Local User, not Microsoft. But, still, have UAC issues. Loads of UAC issues. I can access everything as far as programs, software, etc. When it comes to System stuff? I get a bunch of denials. I try running Windows Troubleshooter in Admin? Nada.

SUMMARY OF ISSUES: IP-related, Router/Internet Connection Not Recognized despite Having Internet/Router at premium speeds/connection; Windows Update; Windows Update Troubleshooter; and UAC.

So, instead of bothering everyone with mindless complaints and being laughed at because I’m not a coder. I’d rather just ask, generally, What do I do?

OPINION: After reading an answer by 2 mods, in mutual agreement, to an OP whose question here was “I can only access my site using a VPN and not without” despite whatever browsers, etc. The MODs both stated that with DHCP and DNS caching, etc. that it’s possibly my IP isn’t recognized. This makes the most sense, even if I and that OP do not have the same complaints. But, that’s the reason, most logically I’d think, that is why Linksys says I do not have a Linksys router nor an internet connection when I clearly do; That’s the reason why I cannot sign into Wordpress via Chrome or any browser EXCEPT when using a VPN – i.e. ANOTHER IP Address. Copy?

Apologize, guys/girls. Sometimes things just get outta hand and it gets so far that stuff stacks atop one another.

I’m having the same issue. Everything was going fine on my WP site, and I was tinkering with adding some code and then all of a sudden I was locked out! Getting the same errors as you. But I can access via VPS or using my cell network, on my phone… just not using my local connection. I have no idea how to troubleshoot this!
