Color Distortion in Desktop

Hello all,

It seems recent changes (by Ubuntu or by Digital Ocean) has caused colors in certain windows to be distorted in the desktop. For instance on the terminal and application menus.

I can replicate the issue by doing the following

  1. Create Ubuntu 14.04 Droplet in San Francisco
  2. apt-get update
  3. apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
  4. sudo reboot
  5. startx

Now…

You can already see the distortion by accessing the console window through web portal

OR…

you can continue to and install your favorite VNC viewer if you’d like (I prefer x11vnc) and you will see the same exact thing

Anyone else able to reproduce the issue with the above 5 steps?

Any ideas as to what it may be?

Thanks,

IFW

Hello FlevasGR,

This is in line with what Digital Ocean has in their guide:

I was curious to see if anyone else is able to replicate the issue with the above steps.
