Hi ,
I am trying to connect to my new droplet using FileZilla with root. I followed the instructions here https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/droplets/how-to/transfer-files/
I am getting the message Error: Could not connect to server
FileZilla Setting Protocal : SFTP - SSH File Tranfer Protocol Host: droplet IP Port: 22 Logon Type : Interactive User: root
I can login droplet with CLI using SSH . And I can connect to my other old droplet with FileZilla with same setting so i can confirm my Machine firewall is not block .
Is it On new droplet we need to setup something to allow root to connect with FileZilla ?
Thanks,

Hi @jack3985,
First, how are you trying to login via FTP, is it with the root password? If yes, have you actually set the root password manually on the droplet or have you used the reset button in your control panel?
One other thing on which port are you trying to connect, I would take a guess that it’s either 21 or 22. Make sure those ports are allowed on the droplet itself. Another alternative would be to just allow your IP to the droplet for every possible port.
