Digital Ocean Preview Deploy on PR getting github user permission error

My DO App platform is able to access github private repo during deploy but my github workflow for ./deploy_preview is failing due to

failed to deploy: failed to create app: POST https://api.digitalocean.com/v2/apps: 400 (request “28f76531-e905-48af-8c01-e585c854bcb0”) GitHub user does not have access to gouravsaha/hostara-fast-backend Have verified github app integration shows that github access is on for all repositories.

Heya, @f9ccf41c1c3743eb9a1071f9dae7a7 The 400 code usually means the GitHub identity tied to the DigitalOcean App Platform connection is not the same user/token your GitHub Action is deploying with. That identity doesn’t have permission to the private repo (even if your main app deploy does). The quickest fixes people have success with are: re-create the DO “GitHub App” connection while logged in as the GitHub user that actually owns/has access to the repo, or change the workflow to deploy using a DO API token that belongs to an account/team member who has the repo installed/authorized in the DO GitHub integration. Also, double-check the repo name/owner in the error is exactly correct (no rename, transfer, or org fork mismatch), because DO treats those as a different repo and will say “user does not have access”. Hi there, I might be wrong, but this usually comes down to which GitHub identity the API call is made as. Even though App Platform can deploy from the repo, your GitHub Action is calling the DigitalOcean API using a DO token that is tied to a specific GitHub user or app installation. If that GitHub user does not explicitly have access to the private repo, the Apps API will return this error. A few things to double check: The GitHub user linked to the DigitalOcean account (or token owner) is a collaborator on the repo. If this is a PR from a fork, the DigitalOcean GitHub App may not have access to forked repos by design. Reinstall the DigitalOcean GitHub App and explicitly grant access to that repo. Make sure the DO API token used in the workflow belongs to the same account that owns the App Platform app. This usually isn’t a permissions bug in App Platform, but a mismatch between the GitHub user context used by the preview deploy and who actually has repo access.
