I’m having DNS resolving issues with my VPS. So far I setup and configured nginx, php-fpm, and mysql. What I find strange is that the problem is intermittent but when the DNS does successfully resolve it only does so for a very short period of time (a few minutes). Right now I’m getting a 502 error ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.
Things I’ve tried: Edited dns-nameservers in /etc/network/interfaces to be 8.8.8.8 208.67.222.222 Added supersede domain-name-servers 8.8.8.8, 208.67.222.222; in /etc/dhcp/dhclient.conf I double checked my DO DNS CP settings which appear to be fine.
Any ideas on how I can fix this issue?

“… which appear to be fine.”

Appearances can be deceiving, sometimes. You’re better off running some tests with (free) online DNS tools, e.g. the Domain Configuration tool – to know for sure that it’s not your DNS records causing the problem.
