DNS problems

Posted on August 1, 2013

Hi,

In the past days I successfully configure my vanity Host Names. Yesterday after few days I enter to my webpage and I see that I can’t enter, I check the NS, and from Mexico (where I live) and it resolve to my droplet, and from my droplet on (NY1) it can’t resolve.

But it’s weird, because

cuponice.com,.net,.org,com.mx,.mx,.biz, etc… are to ns1.noticiasgam.com & ns2.noticiasgam.com and only cuponice.com & .net works the other doesn’t work (have the same NS).

I already check with support with digital ocean and they said that because I have my own hostname they can’t help too much because I need to configure it. Also I talk with Godaddy support and they help me checking the NS configuration and they said me that are correctly configure, they recommend me to reset my DNS zone file. I already destroy the DNS and do it again and it doesn’t work.

Any ideas?

I have installed CentOS, with VPS cPanel. My hostname its s1.noticiasgam.com

Hi nightflash, no because I want vanity name servers

Hi Pablo I just change it and do it like the guide Vanity Nameservers, but now my problem it’s that cpanel detect the domain to digital ocean IP and my server IP it’s different, so I can’t park domains, cpanel said me that the domain it’s on another server. The only way to solve this it’s with branded name servers right?

This is yours name servers:
Domain ID:D165892632-LROR
Domain Name:CUPONICE.ORG
Name Server:NS1.NOTICIASGAM.COM
Name Server:NS2.NOTICIASGAM.COM
Name Server:NS3.NOTICIASGAM.COM

This is not DigitalOcean. Check your domain settings.

Did you follow the instructions in this guide How to Create Vanity or Branded Nameservers with DigitalOcean Cloud Servers?
