DO, DO API, and PowerShell?

Posted on April 24, 2018

Hi All,

Just about to get started with Digital Ocean in our environment. Wondering if the use of PowerShell on Digital Ocean is still relevant. I see that there’s a Posh module, but it hasn’t been updated in about 4 years. I was checking out the libraries on DO, but I didn’t see anything specific to PowerShell. Wondering if anyone is using PowerShell to manage their environment?

I haven’t personally worked with PowerShell with the DO API but after doing some digging I found both the module you mentioned that was last updated 4 years ago as well as a few others that are more recent. This appears to be the most recent PowerShell DO module I can find with updates as recent as two months ago.

Yeah :( sadly I found the same thing. Also, .NET Core was taken out, so it “shouldn’t” impact Windows PowerShell, but PowerShell Core won’t work. Think I’m going to just learn Python and use the libs for DigitalOcean. It’s about time I learn another language anyways.
