I am experimenting with setting up a Mysql DB server in DO for the first time trying to import Data from RDS (MySQL 5.7). However, my import is failing because I dont have enough privileges for the doadmin user…

Access denied; you need (at least one of) the SUPER, SYSTEM_VARIABLES_ADMIN or SESSION_VARIABLES_ADMIN privilege(s) for this operation

Which puts me in a rather endless loop as I cant modify that user, its the highest privileges I can get?

Hi there,

What you could do is to edit the .sql export and comment out the line that is throwing the error.

In most cases, such lines are vendor-specific configurations and do not affect your data.

Let me know how it goes. Best, Bobby
