I’m looking at deploying a new Ubuntu 16.04 LTS droplet, but before I do that, I’d really like to know if it is going to be a ZFS-based root. I’d prefer the answer to be yes and/or select-able at install. Thanks!

No, it uses ext4 (checked using lsblk -f on my Ubuntu 16.04.1 droplet) And no, I don’t think it’s selectable at install

I guess you could have an ext4 root disk for you OS and use DO’s storage product as a zfs pool. Although I’m not sure if that would make much sense since block storage is probably already highly redundant etc.
