I am running my droplet on centos 6.4 32bit which has a zpanel installed. When I try to add domain via zpanel, it doesn’t work. But if I add the domain on my digitalocean dashboard DNS menu, it works. I would like it work from the zpanel. Nameservers used on the domain (that I want to add) are vanity nameservers created on my primary domain and are added on my namecheap account.

Zpanel will not be able to add your domain to DNS servers provided by DigitalOcean. It will add this domain to a name server at your droplet. You can delegate your domain to your domain server at your container in namecheap panel. If it will not let you set up this to a single DNS server you should add a 2nd NS record and coresponing A record just like the one created by zpanel in the zone file of your domain in zpanel or just use do’s name servers.
