I had an older account which used the same domain name, I lost access to the account and when I finally got back in it I decided to deactivate it. Now on my new account when I try to connect my domain, it just says it already exists. I’ve tried submitted a ticket but hasn’t worked because for whatever reason it is not allowing me to type in the description. I just want to move that domain over to my new account. Support please contact me!

Hey @camrussell,
In our public community, we aim to answer open questions about anything SysAdmin, DigitalOcean and beyond. However, we make every attempt to keep personal information safe and so don’t ever access personal account information here. This means we can’t provide help with any account or billing-related issues.
Basically, you need to ask DigitalOcean’s Support to transfer the Domain over to your new account. There is no other way around it.
Please reach out to DigitalOcean’s amazing support team who will be more than happy to assist you with your account issue! :)
If you are not able to add a description, can you please try and use another browser to see if the issue will persist?
Hope that helps! - KFSys.
Hello there,
The system performs a DNS lookup to see if the domain has already been added to DigitalOcean. If it has, you’ll receive a message that says Data domain example.com: Name already exists. If the domain has not been previously added to DigitalOcean’s DNS service, it will be added.
