Domains and Vesta Cp

Posted on April 8, 2014

Hello,

First of all - i’m noob in domain things.

Situation: I have DigitalOcean droplet with Ubuntu 12.04 LAMP and installed Vesta Control Panel.

I have assigned few domains to DO Control Panel. For example domain: handify.me

In DO Control Panel handify.me domain have 4 records, A: @ points to IP and 3 NS points to DO NS servers.

Domain is bought trough godaddy.com and in godaddy this domain have only NS records of DO NS servers.

Questions is how can/should i configure domains in DO Control Panel/Vesta Control Panel so subdomains, emails etc. will work?

There’s a tutorial about setting up subdomains using DigitalOcean’s panel:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/articles/how-to-set-up-and-test-dns-subdomains-with-digitalocean-s-dns-panel

If you’re still having issues, let us know more specifically what you’re trying to do.

You can create a subdomain in vesta cp with the following steps :

 • Create DNS Record for your domain on vestacp menu, the type of record is CNAME that pointed to your droplet IP address. Enter subdomain that you want to add on record section (i.e mysubdomain)
 • Add a new domain through Vesta Cp with full address (i.e mysubdomain.handify.me)

I have tried this, and work
