Droplet Created Via Live Snap Will Not Boot

Posted on February 23, 2018

Not getting any response on a ticket I opened (1176631), so wondering if the community has any feedback.

I created a live snapshot of a droplet. Created a new droplet from the snapshot. When the droplet boots it spits out:

error: no such device: XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX-XXX error: unknown file system error: you need to load the kernel first

Tried creating another droplet to ensure that it wasn’t that process that failed. Second droplet has the same issue.

I’m guessing the live snapshot is corrupt. Should I bother with another live snapshot (are they not reliable?), or power down and get a snap that way?

Thanks

Got a response to my ticket 19 hours later. Might be related to the version of Ubuntu that I snapshotted. Guess I need to wait another 19 hours to see if this is the case.
