Emails not sending via WP Forms

Posted on August 10, 2021

Hey there

I’ve run into a real stump of an issue, so was wondering if anyone may be able to help?

I moved from Hostgator to Digital Ocean, from Shared Server to VPS.

One of my clients domains routes email straight via his website front page form to 123reg. So if someone submits a form entry via WP Forms, it should go straight to his 123reg box - the mx records are set in the DNS also for the domain.

But since I moved to Digital Ocean, he no longer receives email notifications via WP Forms. It was previously an SMTP issue which I seemed to gix, now I cannot see what it is. They should literally go through WP Forms, straight to 123reg. But they are not.

Any ideas?

Hi @meggspStarfish,

You are correct it’s an SMTP issue in my eyes. See if everything configured is correct? Additionally, you should be using SMTP with 123reg. Check your SMTP plugin, I’m sure there is a misconfiguration there.

Hello all,

If anyone is using WP Forms and want to use Gmail as mail relay then follow the article on WP Forms website. The WP Mail SMTP plugin will do the work just fine.
