Posted on November 10, 2022

Where can I find a statement from DigitalOcean about their environmental impact, carbon footprint and so on? This is becoming a more and more important factor when choosing hosting providers.

Hi @anderstornblad,

I’m not sure that answers your whole question but I’ll recommend giving the following page a look:

https://www.digitalocean.com/impact

There are segments like:

Green DigitalOcean DigitalOcean’s plans to bring understanding to our carbon footprint and identify key Environmental, Social, and Governance focus areas.

Additionally, you can find such resources helpful as well:

I would also very much appreciate some detail on ANY efforts that Digital Ocean is putting forward to help offset environmental impacts. It helps achieve an organizational goal of our’s “Exclusively partner / contract with environmentally conscious vendors”. I fully respect that the process of hosting is inherently dependent on energy consumption.
