Hello, I’m Gowtham and I own a website that has a traffic around 500k - 1M pageviews per month at maximum and it is currently hosted at Github pages. I planned to extend the site and the work is going on with Rails framework. I’ve no scaling experience previously since I used only PaaS and Github Pages.
The question is how much hardware resources do I need to host a website written in Rails framework that serves 500k pageviews currently. And also, how can I scale it when the traffic increases? by increasing the capacity of a single droplet or to replicate the droplet and use a load balancer?
Also, what’s the best for high performance low latency server? Apache with Passenger or Nginx with Unicorn?
