ETH full node help.

Posted on March 9, 2020

I am running droplet with 4 GB Memory / 80 GB Disk + 500 GB / SFO2 - Ubuntu 18.04.3 (LTS) x64 to operate ETH full node. When syncing, I run out of space. Not using +500 GB. ETH chain is ~ 250 GB. should have plenty of real estate here. How can I sync chain on 500 GB volume?

You’ll need closer to 2TB depending on your sync type and client. I quit using ETH years ago because of how difficult it was to do the initial block download and cost of maintaining a non-pruned node.

Heya,

Even though you have a 500 GB volume, it’s crucial to ensure your primary disk has enough space for temporary files and operations.

You can check our docs on how to fix issues related to disk space
