My crontab is removed every few months. It stopps and crontab -l is clear

That’s usually not a good sign. Although I don’t have access to the server and cannot say it with certainty, this could be a sign of a compromised server. Have you noticed any oddities on the server like services stopping or high load? What about the logs in /var/log/, are these 0 byte size logs there?
