forwarding HTTp to HTTPS issues

Posted on June 30, 2022

I’m trying to forward HTTP to HTTPS in the Iptables. By doing this: sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTNG -p tcp --dport 80 -j R EDIRECT --to-port 443

and this sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTNG -p tcp --sport 80 -j R EDIRECT --to-port 443

I get an error that says No chain/target/match by that name. What am I doing wrong?

Hello there,

I don’t think you have it formatted correctly, you can try it:

  1. sudo iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 80 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 443

Hope that helps,
