Are you using the aws-sdk npm package?
If so, I think that you should be able to just use the HeadObject method as described in the docs:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSJavaScriptSDK/latest/AWS/S3.html
For example:
const metadata = await s3.headObject(metadataParams).promise();
If this is not the case, feel free to share more details on your exact setup!
