Getting error while i am trying to install phpmyadmin

HI, I am getting this error while i am trying to install phpmyadmin on my droplet with latest Ubuntu Lamp droplet. I tried many different ways but still getting same error. I would really appreciate any help An error occurred while installing the database: <pre> ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’@‘localhost’ (using password: YES)
