GNOME and KDE desktop environments don't boot up.

Posted on November 3, 2019

Hello, community. I’ve tried several times to get a GUI desktop interface to boot up on my DigitalOcean/Centos7 environment. No matter what directions I follow, neither GNOME nor KDE Plasma Workspace will show up. I get no errors during the file download process. I just can’t boot either GUI. I’ve followed directions very carefully during each attempt, but clearly I’m missing something very fundamental. When I run yum group list on the command line, KDE PLasma Workspaces shows up under “Installed Environment Groups,” and “Graphical Administration Tools” shows up under “Installed Groups.” Has anyone else run into problems with GUI display for either KDE or GNOME? How did you solve it? Thank you for any help you can provide!

Hello,

I’ve recently had a similar case, I got this working with Ubuntu.

You could check the answer here on how I got it working:

Hope that this helps! Regards, Bobby
