Grant admin rights to another account for managing servers

Posted on August 14, 2014

I would like to know if it’s possible to invite another user to manage a server without having to provide credentials - of course talking about the control panel, not an access via Telnet/SSH.

I would like to be able to manage my client’s servers (resize, reboot, etc.), but of course I cannot ask him to give me his password and use his account.

OK thanks. It looks like managing a server via APIs is not practical, so by now I’ll wait and hope for that feature to be added soon.

Unfortunately, there is straightforward way to do this right now. You can add your “vote” to this request on our UserVoice page and subscribe to track progress.

One work around that you can use right now is to manage the client’s droplet through the API. They can generate an API token specifically for you. That way, they can revoke the token if they want to remove your access.
