Has anyone tried hosting a minecraft server on a memory-optimised droplet?

Posted on April 20, 2020

I am looking to hold up to 80 players and 50 plugins in minecraft and was wondering if the CPU from the memory-optimised droplet will be sufficient to keep up. I would really appreciate if anyone with the experience can shed some light. Thank You!

Hello,

I think that memory-optimised would be better for 80 players. Do you see any CPU spikes with your current Droplet? I would recommend checking your server status with the htop command to see where the current bottle neck is.

That way you will be able to make a better decision on which would fit your needs best.
