Files are uploaded to site, but IP address brings up sample rather than my website. Works great on local machine any ideas?

This would indicate that the virtual host that you created is not active. <br> <br>Are you running Apache or Nginx? <br> <br>Have you restarted your webserver after making any changes to the config files?
Confusing subject :-) I have yet to master this and have reverted in shame to Heroku :-/
