I would like to see what is using up all my disk space - I have entry level 20gb and run my website of this but keep hitting my limited and so being taken offline. i want to clear out unused data but need to see what some level of what is sucking the space dry.

Use this command to check which directory is eating your disk space
cd / && sudo du -h --max-depth=1 .
It might take a while to get executed.

@Mohsen47 's answer is correct, but a cleaner solution is to install ncdu:
Ubuntu:
sudo apt-get install ncdu
CentOS/Fedora:
sudo yum install ncdu
Once installed, you can simply run this:
ncdu /
