How can I use both Apache and nginx on the same droplet?

Posted on June 14, 2015

I want to install Ghost on my droplet, but I already have Apache Virtual Host, so I’m not sure how to get Ghost set up.

You can use the apache virtualhosts to get this working on the same droplet. You should create a sub-domain name or another domain and redirect it to the IP of your droplet. In Ubuntu you can find the location of the virtualhost file in:

/etc/apache/

And by default you can find the main apache configuration file at:

/etc/httpd/conf.d

place the following configuration in the file, changing ServerName and ServerAlias to your specific configuration.

<VirtualHost *:80>
     ServerName your-url.com
     ServerAlias www.your-url.com
     ProxyRequests off
     ProxyPass / http://127.0.0.1:2368/
     ProxyPassReverse / http:/127.0.0.1:2368/
</VirtualHost>
