I can not say how it will improve the real estate apps, but if there are real estate apps that can use certain functions from IoT devices, it will definitely be a plus. This can be a virtual tour made possible from cameras and etc.

In addition to what has been mentioned already, from a backend angle, DigitalOcean’s setup works well for this kind of thing. You can run your device bridge or API layer on App Platform, store state in a Managed Database, and use Functions or simple workers to handle events from the devices without overcomplicating the architecture.
