How to add additional SSH logins?

Posted on June 10, 2015

Hi!

I have opted for SSH-only login at the time of droplet creation and it is fine from my laptop.

Now, at my workplace, I generated a new key pair and pasted the public key in DigitalOcean’s web interface. As I try to login, I am being asked for root password which I never had.

A few tutorials I referred to say that ‘it is possible to add keys only during the creation of droplet’ while others point to this ‘method of adding additional SSH keys’. I’m confused.

Please help

Thanks fossterer

Add the key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

It also sounds like you’re trying to login as root, which should disabled.
