Question

How to add additional SSH logins?

Hi!

I have opted for SSH-only login at the time of droplet creation and it is fine from my laptop.

Now, at my workplace, I generated a new key pair and pasted the public key in DigitalOcean’s web interface. As I try to login, I am being asked for root password which I never had.

A few tutorials I referred to say that ‘it is possible to add keys only during the creation of droplet’ while others point to this 'method of adding additional SSH keys’. I’m confused.

Please help

Thanks

Add the key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

It also sounds like you’re trying to login as root, which should disabled.

  • Add the key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys

    • So, I only have to use an already authenticated machine (laptop) to add new keys of devices. Am I right?
    • The addition of public key in web interface is of no use. Is that it?

It also sounds like you’re trying to login as root, which should disabled.

    • Thanks, will do.
