I am trying to login to my vps with username and password i set during VNC server installation. but it does not recognize the password.

Hello,
The VNC console should use the system usernames and passwords. If you need to change that you will want to log in as root and issue the following command:
passwd username
Replace username with the username you are trying to change. If you have forgotten the root password, you can log into your account and go to the ‘Access’ tab to get a new password emailed to you.
