how to configure Cpanel/WHM for additional domains?

Posted on May 10, 2014

Hello, i set my 1st and 2nd domain’s(registered in godaddy) dns on godaddy :

NS1.DIGITALOCEAN.COM NS2.DIGITALOCEAN.COM

On digitaloceans’s dns settings i add both domains and create cname for domains. First one is working well pointing to my digitalocean server,it is also working on cpanel i can use domain. But when i try to add addon domain as my 2nd domain on cpanel it sives an error:

Sorry, the domain is already pointed to an IP address that does not appear to use DNS servers associated with this server. Please transfer the domain to this servers nameservers or have your administrator add one of its nameservers to /etc/ips.remotedns and make the proper A entries on that remote nameserver.

Should i add another settings(nameservers,ip etc…) on WHM/cpanel to add my second domain on same cpanel account?

You can resolved the error by checking the “Allow Remote Domains” setting.

WHM > Tweak Settings > Domains > Allow Remote Domains

Though if you’re trying to setup DNS for a domain in CPanel, you could probably just remove it from the DigitalOcean panel.
