How to deploy a Ruby Roda application using the Ngninx Passenger tutorial

Posted on April 13, 2015

After following this tutorial to the letter How To Install Rails and nginx with Passenger on Ubuntu I assumed it would work with my ruby Roda application. The Nginx hello index page shows up but when I try to link my applications directory to /var/www/myapp or /var/www/myapp/public it doesn’t work. I was wondering if anyone could come up with a solution. Here is the source if it helps. Source

That article was targeting Ubuntu 12.04. There is a more recent one targeting 14.04 that might be more relevant for you. If you’ve already got Ruby installed, go ahead and skip to part five.
