How to disable directory access for my website

My website has gone live but anyone can see the directories of my website. How to disable access to website directories.

Hi @apa19751975,

You need to disable Directory Indexing. To do this, you can just run the following command:

sudo a2dismod autoindex

This will disable directory listing everywhere on our Droplet, which is what you would normally want.

Having said that if you want to disable it only for one website, you can create an .htaccess file in the website’s root directory and add

Options -Indexes
