Hi @techietech,

In order to use SMTP with DigitalOcean, you’ll need to install such a service. I’ll recommend using Postfix for that matter. Luckily, DigitalOcean have a really good guide on how to install and configure it - https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-configure-postfix-on-ubuntu-18-04

If you don’t want to use Postfix, then I’ll recommend checking out Exim, it’s really popular if not as popular as Postfix and it will get the job done.

Hello there,

Our new disabled-by-default SMTP policy went into effect on June 22, 2022, for all new accounts. While our Security team will still be monitoring spam activity, we believe this decision will benefit our customers and the broader internet community in our shared quest to minimize spam.

However, sending email via API is available from partners’ services that you can find in the Marketplace or other 3rd party services.
