How to get backup of volume storage

Posted on September 12, 2023

I have a storage volume attached to a droplet. I don’t know why, today some data is missing from the storage. Can I get the backup of the volume storage before the data is missing.

Hi there,

Did you have a manual backup for the volume in question? If you have taken a manual snapshot of the volume, you could restore it by following these steps:

  1. Log into the DigitalOcean Control Panel.
  2. Navigate to the “Volumes” tab.
  3. Click on the “Add a volume”.
  4. Choose “Create from Snapshot”
  5. From the list of snapshots, choose the appropriate one and click “Next” and specify the size then click the “Create” button.

If you have not taken any snapshots or backups unfortunately there is no way to restore your volume. What I could suggest in this case is to use a tool like the Snapshooter to make regular backups of your data:
