How to prevent server's FQDN from showing OS welcome page?

Posted on July 23, 2014

Hi,

I have just created my first VPS at DO and would like to prevent the OS welcome page (in my case, the Ubuntu one) from showing up. Do I just rename /var/www/html/index.html to something else or is there a smarter way to do this?

Thanks in advance.

You can just delete the file /var/www/html/index.html It’s simply there as a place holder.

Ah, thanks. I thought that might not be the recommended way to do it.
