I have decided to go with Zoho Mail, they offer too much features and it’s for free!
The problem is, I can’t seem to remove iRedMail. Whenever I visit maghnatis.com/mail/ I get the database error.
I downloaded clear_iredmail.sh but that did not do the job. I’m gonna remove it manually but I can’t seem to figure out where it is located.

I seem to be having the same issue but removing both of the .conf files did not help me.
In my case, my root is being redirected to /mail/ automatically.
I tried grep -r -i iredmail /etc/apache2 which returned this :

/etc/apache2/sites-available/default-ssl: SSLCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/iRedMail_CA.pem
/etc/apache2/sites-available/default-ssl: SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/private/iRedMail.key
/etc/apache2/conf.d/awstats.conf:# File generated by iRedMail (2014.02.11.19.26.42):
/etc/apache2/conf.d/awstats.conf:# Project: http://www.iredmail.org/
/etc/apache2/conf.d/awstats.conf:# Community: http://www.iredmail.org/forum/
/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/default-ssl: SSLCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certs/iRedMail_CA.pem
/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/default-ssl: SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/private/iRedMail.key

then listing the content of /etc/apache2/conf.d/
awstats.conf charset gitweb iredadmin.conf javascript-common.conf localized-error-pages other-vhosts-access-log security

so I removed iredadmin and the awstarts conf files, restarted apache but my root is still being redirected to /mail/

am I missing anything here?
@colmliamoneill: Check
/var/www/index.html
—is it redirecting to /mail?
Delete /var/www/mail manually?

sudo rm -r /var/www/mail
