I backed up /etc/bash.bashrc and made some changes to it, then I decided to revert to my backup version. For some reason now the default DigitalOcean MOTD no longer appears when I login. I always liked that message and want to restore it but I’m not sure where to begin. Since the original /etc/bash.bashrc is back in place, I don’t know what could be different.
It looks like all the original scripts are still in place in /etc/update-motd.d/, I just don’t know the proper way to run them at login.
