I have deployed a node app on droplet I want to use VPN for downloads and bypass VPN when uploading to spaces cause I think VPN will slow down the uploads.

What is the VPN service that you are using?
With OpenVPN for example you could use the allow-pull-fqdn option to exclude specific FQDNs from the VPN routing. That way when you access a specific domain via the VPN it would go through the net rather than VPN:

As per Bobby’s reply the setup will be rather custom depending from each VPN client of your choice.
On a further notice be mindful of security when implementing split tunneling. Ensure that you are not inadvertently exposing sensitive traffic when bypassing the VPN. It’s essential to understand the implications of routing specific traffic through the VPN and leaving other traffic unprotected.
