The apt-get update command is very slow and is producing errors that look like this:
Err http://mirrors.digitalocean.com utopic/main i386 Packages
404 Not Found [IP: 192.241.164.26 80]
… followed later by warning messages like:
W: Failed to fetch http://mirrors.digitalocean.com/ubuntu/dists/utopic/restricted/source/Sources 404 Not Found [IP: 192.241.164.26 80]
… and finally this:
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
I presume that Digital Ocean’s archive mirror [IP: 192.241.164.26 80] is not in service. Should I be editing the /etc/apt/sources.list file, and if so to what, or is there a better way to restore normal apt-get functionality?
