How to use mounted volume on the droplet?

Posted on September 19, 2022

Hi there!

I’ve mounted the volume volume_fra1_01 to my droplet and I have the folder /mnt/volume_fra1_01.

But how can I use this volume to store the MS SQL Server data there?

docker volume ps command shows that I don’t have any volume

The lines below in the docker-compose.yaml will create a new volume named sqldata

volumes:
    - sqldata:/var/opt/mssql

Thanks for your response!

Hi @5151caa45a63-45f3-8ee8-c6f42f,

You should be able to see the Mounted volume using docker. How have you mounted the volume? Have you used the following article:

https://docs.digitalocean.com/products/volumes/how-to/mount/

You can try to add the volume to your fstab and reboot your Droplet according to the above docs.

Hi there,

Another thing that you could do is to attach the DigitalOcean Block Storage to the Docker container directly as described here:

https://www.digitalocean.com/community/questions/how-to-attach-digitalocean-block-storage-to-docker-container

Hope that this helps!

Best,

Bobby
