I have just created a droplet with Ubuntu 16.04, and installed LAMP separately using available tutorials. Unfortunately, when I open my.cnf the only items in this ate the following. !includedir /etc/mysql/conf.d/ and !includedir /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/

On Ubuntu 16.04, the MySQL daemon config file is located at /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/mysqld.cnf.
