You can disable the backups for your droplet from your control panel. Just navigate to the Droplets menu, then click on your droplet’s name and then from the menu of the left click the Backups tab, on the following page you have the option to disable the backups via the Disable Backups button.
Snapshot billing is separate for billing from Droplets and volumes, the snapshots are on-demand disk images. You can remove any snapshots that you don’t need from your account.
