If one droplet is taken down with a DMCA will it affect other droplets on my account?

Posted on February 2, 2021

I’m starting a gig setting up websites, mostly shops and blogs. I was wondering what happens if one of my clients has its site taken down for some reason. Will this affect my other sites/droplets?

If one of your client’s sites (droplets) is taken down for any reason, it will not affect your other droplets or websites, as they are separate instances.

If the droplet where the site is hosted is suspended due to not following our TOS this will affect all websites which are hosted on the droplet, so this is something to keep in mind. If you’re concerned you can host the client’s website on a separate droplet and in this way your other sites won’t be affected.

However, it’s essential to ensure that your clients comply with DigitalOcean’s Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy to prevent any issues with their droplets.

For more information about managing droplets, you can refer to DigitalOcean’s Droplet documentation.
